Web.com to buy Register.com for $135 million

Web.com Group Inc said it agreed to acquire privately-held domain name registration provider Register.com for $135 million, in a deal that will immediately add to the online marketing company's adjusted earnings.

JACKSONVILLE (Florida) - WEB.COM Group Inc, which does online marketing for small businesses, said Thursday it has agreed to acquire privately held Register.com for US$135 million (S$187 million). Web.com said it will pay US$20 million in cash, and finance the rest with proceeds from a new US$110 million term loan and a US$5 million seller note.
